1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Purrse ("Purrse", "we", "us") for your use of the Purrse mobile app and the website at purrse.in (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
If you downloaded Purrse from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent the law and Apple allow.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use Purrse.
- You sign in with Google, Apple or a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that account secure; you're responsible for activity under your Purrse account.
- Give accurate sign-in information and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- One account is for one person. Please don't share it or create accounts on someone else's behalf without permission.
3. Plans, trials and billing
Purrse offers a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with a free trial, and a one-time Lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the app and on our website and may vary by country.
- Billing. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to the account you use with them. Their payment terms also apply.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials. If your plan includes a free trial, you won't be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and you'll be charged. Trials are available once per person.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app or your Purrse account does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We can't issue refunds for store purchases directly, but we're happy to help you ask for one.
- Lifetime. A Lifetime purchase gives you access to paid features for as long as we offer the Purrse app, with no renewals.
- Price changes. If we change a subscription price, we'll tell you in advance, and the stores will ask for your consent where required. The new price applies from your next renewal.
4. Your data
You own the entries, accounts, notes and other content you put into Purrse ("Your Content"). You give us a limited permission to store, copy, sync and display Your Content only so we can provide the Service to you. This permission ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies in backups that are overwritten on their normal cycle.
You're responsible for what you enter. Only add information about other people, such as names in IOUs, that you have the right to store. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Purrse works offline and syncs when it can. Changes made while offline may be lost if you sign out or delete the app before they upload; the app warns you before signing out with unsent changes.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent or to launder money;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around our security;
- overload, disrupt, scrape or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
- upload malware or content that infringes someone else's rights.
6. Not a bank, not financial advice
Purrse is a personal record-keeping tool. It does not hold, move or invest money, is not a bank or payment service, and does not connect to your financial accounts. Balances, totals, currency conversions and statistics are calculated from what you enter and from exchange rates you provide or that we supply for convenience, and may not match your bank or card statements. Nothing in Purrse is financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Check important figures against official statements before relying on them.
7. Our content
The Purrse name, logo, the cat characters (Coco, Vault, Swipe, Pixel, Mitten and Paws), artwork, design and software belong to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, following these terms and the app store's rules. Feedback you send us may be used to improve Purrse without any obligation to you.
8. Changes to the Service
We're always improving Purrse, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we ever stop offering the Service, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to get a copy of your data.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Purrse and delete your account at any time in the app under Me → Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where the law requires, and we'll tell you why unless we're legally unable to. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) continue after your account ends.
10. Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep Purrse reliable and your data safe, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or meet every need.
To the extent the law allows, Purrse is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, savings or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be excluded, including under India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to fix it informally. If that doesn't work, the courts of India have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Purrse after that, you accept the updated terms.
